This is a demo of the Macintosh Software Update Report Web Site. This demo contains only the February ’95 issue and the Mac Vendor Web Site listing as of 4/24/95.
The Update Report is published in paper & disk form, as well as electronically on the Internet. We update the web version approximately every 3 weeks, as opposed to publishing every two months, as is the case with the paper version. Access to the electronic version is included in your basic subscription to the Update Report (US$150).
The accompanying files are to be viewed with a web browser application, such as Netscape . We were unable to get permission to include a copy of Netscape with this demo. If you have another web browser, such as Mosaic, or MacWeb, then simply drag the “Open Me.html” file onto the browser’s icon, (with Mosaic, choose “Open Local” from the file menu and select “Open Me.html”). Note that you do not need an Internet connection to run this demo — only the web browser software. At the time of this writing, all of the above web browsers are available free to individual users. Check the file libraries of your local online service or User Group.
If you do not currently have World Wide Web access, note that all the major online services are all working on including a web browser in their software. This service may be available by the time you read this.
The folder “MSUR WWW files” contains files used by the WWW Demo and you should not need to access these files directly.
